Mothers are allowed to nurture their young in a natural environment.

Piglets nurse for a minimum of five weeks and are given the comfort of straw bedding.

Pigs may be housed indoors where they are provided ample space and straw in which to root, play and explore.

Piglets learn to graze by their mother's side and are able to carry out instinctive rooting behavior.

Like her wild ancestors each sow is able to isolate herself at farrowing.
Each sow is provided with a straw bedded hut in which to deliver and nurse her piglets.
