The Animal Welfare Institute (AWI) regularly engages in precedent setting litigation on behalf of animals in state and federal courts across the country. AWI is continuously blazing the trail to protect animals in the legal arena and most recently has been involved in nationally recognized cases to promote the welfare of horses, elephants, lynx and marine mammals.

In addition to filing lawsuits to protect animals, AWI works to promote the enforcement and strengthening of both state anti-cruelty laws and federal animal protection laws.
