Searching the citation index: (It is the default index and includes author, title, date, journal, book chapter, book) Index: Citation Full Text Articles Keywords

You can enter any word or a combination of words; for example:
mice nesting material
1999 rats
Arey straw
Applied Animal Behaviour Science 1989

Searching the keyword index:

• select Keywords by clicking the arrow of the index drop-down list box and highlighting Keywords Index: Citation Full Text Articles Keywords
• create your own string of keywords by simply typing them in the search box in any order;
  for example:
  rats bedding
  visual barrier horses
  species-typical behavior cattle
  
• You can search by species, by entering the species name in the keyword field: cats, mice, rats, guinea pigs, snakes, amphibians, cattle, chickens, pigs, etc.

Browsing through the alphabetical keyword list: This will help you become familiar with available keywords.

• click Browse the index (see figure below)
  
• select Keywords by clicking the arrow of the index drop-down list box and highlighting Keywords (see figure below)

You can scroll down quickly by typing the first letter of the keyword you might be trying to find in the New position box. For example: type in r, press Enter, click Rats and you will have immediate access to all the records on rats.
